Honor System
(For 2 to 5 Players)
OBJECT
To outplay, by alertness and quickness, the other player or players and peg out first.
BEFORE PLAY:
1. Take turn being Archie. Archie controls the dice.
2. Place playing board so that player who is Archie is opposite the other players. If only two play, one player is Archie, the other player plays any two of the other characters (Veronica, Betty, Reggie, or Jughead), but one must be from the ODD circle and one from the EVEN circle. When three, four, or five are playing, one is Archie, the others each play one of the characters.
3. Attach string to playing piece by insertnig lace in hole of playing piece and knotting end.
4. Place the playing pieces representing Archie's friends in the circles where their pictures are shown.
5. Dice are placed in the Archie cup and player turns this over in the circle with Archie's picture.
PLAY:
Player that is Archie shakes the dice in the cup, turns it upside down on the center circle, and lifts it so that all players have an equal chance to see the dice. If the dice are both EVEN numbers (2, 4, or 6), Archie pounces on the characters in the EVEN circle attempting to trap them with the cup. These players try to pull their playing pieces out of the circle before Archie can capture them. if the dice are both ODD numbers (l, 3, or 5), Archie pounces on that circle end those characters try to pull away before they are captured.
When one die is ODD and one is EVEN, no player should make a move.
COUNTING:
Archie pegs one point if:
1. He successfully captures a character. (One point for each.)
2. Any player pulls his character off at the wrong time.
The other characters Peg a point if:
1. They pull their playing pieces off successfully before Archie traps them.
2. Archie traps the wrong character. That character gets a point, plus the players who should have been caught each gain a point.
3. Archie traps when one die is ODD and one is EVEN.
First player to peg out is the WINNER and should be Archie for the next game. If Archie wins, he can decide which other character he wishes to be, but he should not play the part of Archie twice in a row.
